Thanks to its volcanic origins, this fertile oasis has a unique ecosystem with unparalleled resources to nurture beautiful skin. They offer innovative beauty solutions powered by the finest natural ingredients responsibly sourced from Korea’s pristine Jeju Island. However I would recommend the Innisfree sunscreen over this one, since that one is more lightweight and easier to blend on the skin.Innisfree is the first natural Korean brand that shares the benefits of nature from Jeju Island. If you have dry skin, like dewy finishes and don’t tend to have issues with white casts, there’s a chance you might like this. Also it does not have a fragrance or issues with pilling – the few positive points I can make XDĪll in all, a sunscreen is only a good sunscreen if you are actually going to wear it, and this does not pass that test for me. I’m pleased that the formula is hydrating which I was expecting from the 8 layers of different types of hyaluronic acid claim. Oh, and it has a white cast even though it’s not super noticeable on my skin tone. I have to schedule a couple of minutes of powdering into my morning routine to deal with the shine which looks kinda greasy and doesn’t feel great. ![]() The main issue I have with this product is the dewy, tacky layer left behind on my skin ALL DAY. I’ve given the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Perfect Sun Block a 1/5 because I simply did not like using it, and actually tried to avoid using it >.< Not exactly the mark of a good sunscreen. On my skin tone, it’s not that bad but I’m still not a fan □ This sunscreens markets itself as having an ‘unnoticeable white cast’… I mean, you can see from the pictures further up, this does have a white cast on application and it doesn’t fade away afterwards. To ensure I get an even application, I usually quickly spread the sunscreen so it covers all areas, then pat it into my face so there are no blending streaks left behind □ This method is also preferable for my sensitive skin since patting is less harsh on the skin. In terms of blending, I find the longer I leave it on my face, the more effort it takes to blend. In addition, the tackiness doesn’t fade over time so unless I want my hair stuck all over my face, powdering is non-negotiable □ The hydrating, dewy layer left behind is too much for my liking – it’s similar to the Innisfree sunscreen I tried. However it also doesn’t feel as lightweight as other sunscreens I’ve tried. It’s definitely not drying like some traditional physical sunscreens. On application, the sunscreen feels cooling and hydrating. In-vitro studies have reported collagen promotion and increased ATP synthesis, however there is a lack of supporting in-vivo studies. This is a probiotic which can provide soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits for the skin. While researching the efficacy of low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, I found a couple of clinical studies showing improvements in redness, itchiness and inflammation however the exact molecular sizes tested were not stated (1) (2).Īnother ingredient found naturally in the skin, ceramides help to maintain a healthy skin barrier and keep the skin well hydrated. There are three different molecular sizes in this formula: high molecular weight (>1,000kDa: surface hydrator), medium molecular weight (>50kDa: hydrates deeper, to the epidermis) and low molecular weight (>5kDa: able to absorb even deeper into the skin). Naturally present in the skin, hyaluronic acid can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water. ![]()
